AmerenUE to seek rate hike in Missouri

AmerenUE plans to ask the Missouri Public Service Commission for a $263 million electricity rate increase
Approval would mean an 11 percent increase for all customers. The average residential rate would climb by $9.30 a month.
The St. Louis-based utility just implemented a rate hike in June and in July requested to collect $71 million from customers for fuel-related expenses.
AmerenUE said the new rate increase would help pay for installing two scrubbers at the company’s plant in St. Charles, higher net fuel costs for power plants and improvements at the Taum Sauk Power Plant.
The commission has 11 months to approve the request.
